We’re really excited to share some important Changing Places updates with you on World Toilet Day.
The international awareness day is held annually on 19 November, marking an opportunity to inspire action for improving toileting facilities across the globe.
MDUK is always working hard to encourage more Changing Places toilet installations. They make a world of difference to the 250,000 people across the UK who rely on these toilets when planning days out.
£30m fund to install more Changing Places toilets in England
The bidding process opened in July and we were delighted that the government received more than 200 applications from local authorities.
Funding decisions will be made this year and we hope to announce where the new Changing Places toilets will be installed in early 2022.

First hotel to open a Changing Places toilet
Marsham Court in Dorset will open its Changing Places toilet in the coming weeks, making it the first hotel in the UK to do so.
We are really pleased to have supported the hotel with its plans, and the Changing Places toilet will make trips to Marsham Court more inclusive.
We encourage more hotels to improve their accessibility by installing a Changing Places toilet.
London Assembly campaign launch
Karen Hoe OBE, our Changing Places Manager, will today attend the London Assembly’s Changing Places campaign launch following its report highlighting a lack of access to accessible toilets across the capital.
