World Toilet Day 2019
November 19th is World Toilet Day. Established by the World Toilet Organisation, World Toilet Day is a chance to raise awareness of the global sanitation crisis caused by millions of people being unable to access appropriate toilets.
This years theme is "Leaving no one behind." Globally, we know that millions of disabled people are being forced into unsafe and unhygienic situations due to a lack of fully accessible Changing Places toilets. Together, we can change that and that is why we will be supporting the day on 19th November.
Ways you can get involved
-
Look at the resources on the official World Toilet Day website.
-
Download our Changing Places pledge card and tell us (and the world) why Changing Places toilets matter to you- it would be great if you could share your pictures on the day using #WorldToiletDay and #ChangingPlaces.
-
Visit your nearest Changing Places toilet and take a photo using the #CPselfie kit (originated by the wonderful Alison Beevers) and share it with us online.
-
Share these case study images to show the positive difference Changing Places toilets make. You can see an example below.
-
Share these case studies with venues to show what is possible (whatever space or budget is available!)
-
There are lots of helpful tips in our Local Campaigns Pack.
-
Download our campaigns leaflet (or email us for some hard copies) and use this to campaign locally.
We will be making noise on social media on the day. If you are doing something special on the day to raise awareness of Changing Places toilets please share it with us on Twitter by tweeting @cp_consortium
