Monthly update - August 2019
August has seen us dusting ourselves down after all the hard work planning and preparing for a successful Awareness day in July; thank you again to everyone who helped make the day so positive! We are currently analysing and reflecting on the day and will update you all soon.
We've a new team member,
Alex, who is leading our partnership with the Department for Transport to fund the installation of Changing Places toilets at motorway service stations. We're looking forward to announcing the outcome of the recent funding round in mid-September. You can see a list of all current Changing Places toilets on the motorway service network
here, we'll be keeping this updated with any new registrations.
We are continuing conversations with
Cleen and
AccessAble about how we can work more closely together, to further the goals of the campaign and to improve your experience of visiting accessible venues.
Earlier this month we had a campaign push around Premier League football clubs. Since then we have heard from Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have registered their permanent mobile unit. AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that they have a facility which includes a bench, hoist and corner toilet - this is listed on our
Other Changing Facilities page.
We are currently working on improving the map and the website. As part of this we have introduced a
follow-up guide that we are sharing with all newly registered venues to emphasis the importance of promotion, staff training, signage and maintenance. We are also looking for new campaigner case studies to add to our
Real Life Stories section. If you've got a story to tell, we'd love to hear from you -

Thank you to everyone who has notified us of new toilets, projects or issues over the last month. As you know, the Changing Places Consortium relies on venues contacting us when they have installed a Changing Places toilet, or when they have problems affecting an existing Changing Places. This doesn't always happen, so sometimes we only learn of a problem or a new facility when a user gets in touch. If you've found a Changing Places toilet that doesn't appear on our map, or you've come up against any problems accessing one that we do have listed, please do let us know by emailing us, or by leaving feedback via the map or the Cleen App.
