August 2016 - Monthly Update

 

This month we were delighted to register two further Changing Places toilets at Welcome Break motorway service stations. Congratulations to Sarn Park and Corley North services for making their facilities available to those with additional support needs.

 

We also registered the wonderful facility at Cornwall Services which featured on the Channel 4 “No Go Britain” report about the need for more Changing Places across the country.  After the programme we were inundated with calls to the office from new campaigners and potential providers of Changing Places so a huge thank you to all involved in getting our message out there on the national stage. 

 

We will have registration news very soon about new facilities in major sporting venues and we are working with our campaign sponsors Aveso to make sure that supermarkets rise to the challenge of including more Changing Places in their venues.

 

Our social media presence is growing fast and a great way for people to get in touch with us and all the hundreds of campaigners across the UK. The official Changing Places  twitter account has over 5,000 followers and the Changing Places facebook page run independently by campaigner Sarah Mitchell now has over 20,000 likes! Sarah makes sure that the facebook page remains a positive environment for Changing Places campaigners to discuss all that is happening in the hundreds of campaigns going on up and down the country.

 

Finally, we will soon be promoting our next round of campaigners’ conferences across the UK for new and existing campaigners to meet up, share information and build upon the strong support networks that currently exist. Keep a look out on our social media networks for more information.
