300 Changing Places toilets
The Changing Places consortium would like to say a huge thank you to all campaigners and providers who have played their part in reaching the milestone of 300 registered Changing Places toilets in the UK. The Museum of Liverpool’s facility was the 300th toilet registered and was the culmination of many years of campaigning. With more Changing Places toilets on the way we hope to be celebrating further milestones over the coming year.
Beverley Dawkins OBE, Mencap’s national officer for profound and multiple learning disabilities and co-chair of the Changing Places consortium said: “The impact of a Changing Places toilet on the quality of life for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities is significant. We have achieved great strides in this campaign since it launched however there are many more facilities still needed. The Changing Places consortium will continue to lobby for more facilities across the UK to cater for the needs of our most vulnerable citizens.”
